Oct 5, 2023

One lucky Littleton player wins $1 Million on huge jackpot run

The Powerball jackpot is at a staggering $1.4 billion (cash value $643.7 million) for the next drawing on Saturday, Oct. 7. That makes this the third largest Powerball jackpot and fifth largest U.S. lottery jackpot ever!

The upcoming Powerball drawing on Saturday will be 34th drawing in the jackpot run, and the first time in Powerball history that back-to-back jackpot cycles have generated billion-dollar grand prizes. The Powerball jackpot was previously won on July 19, when a ticket in California won a jackpot worth $1.08 billion.

While we may not have hit the jackpot, five lucky Coloradans scored big prizes in the Wednesday Powerball drawing, totalling $1.2 million:

  • $1,000,000 winning ticket sold in Littleton
  • $50,000 winning ticket sold in Colorado Springs
  • $50,000 winning ticket sold in Johnstown
  • $50,000 winning ticket sold in Boulder
  • $50,000 winning ticket sold in Brighton

Colorado has had three Powerball jackpot winners since the game was introduced to the state in 2001.

  • 2007: Colorado had its first-ever Powerball jackpot winners when two families shared a $20 million jackpot.
  • 2014: Colorado’s second Powerball winner from Rifle wins $90 million.
  • 2017: Colorado’s third Powerball winner from Clifton wins $133.2 million, making them the highest Colorado jackpot winner in history.
