Everyone thought Darren H. was playing an April Fools joke on them!
It was no joke. It only took 10+ years of playing Powerball together as workmates to win the big one. This 14-person work team won $1 million together, and even though some had retired and many had moved on to other job opportunities, they still played together.
The group of winners hails from Centennial, Denver, Castle Rock, and even Wyoming. Once the shock wore off, they could not believe it. Some of the ways they are spending their money include: tips, investing, saving, home improvement projects, and of course spending it on their kids.
The winning ticket was purchased at 7-Eleven in Castle Rock. It must be a winning time of year, we also had two recent $50,000 Scratch winners!
