Mega Millions is Getting Even Better!
Beginning April 5th, 2025 for the drawing on Tuesday, April 8th, the new Mega Millions game will offer you higher jackpots, better odds and bigger wins. Mega Millions' price will increase from $2 for the current base play, to $5 and will include a new multiplier feature (eliminating the Megaplier option). Check out the new benefits of play:
Bigger Jackpots and Improved Odds to Win
The starting jackpot will begin at $50 million instead of $20 million and continue to grow based on ticket sales until it is hit - and the odds to win are better in your favor. The odds will go from 1 in 302 million to 1 in 290 million. Minimum prize wins will all be higher as well, and no more breakeven prizes! The prize for matching the Mega Ball alone will increase to $10 to $50 depending on the multiplier generated for each set of numbers played.
New Built-In Multiplier
The multiplier option will be built in to the $5 base price of the game with a multiplier randomly assigned to each purchased play on a ticket and range from 2X all the way up to 10X. The multiplier will increase winnings on all non-jackpot prizes!
What You Need to Know Now
In preparation of offering these new game features, the game system has to countdown the number of Advance Play draws offered down to zero. Once set to zeo, the new game features will be available for purchase on April 4th. Starting on January 7th, the clock starts ticking.
